The Centre d'analyse stratégique and the Interdepartmental Committee of Cities held 24 November 2011 a symposium:
How does living in a poor neighborhood, or otherwise promoted, he affects behavior and individual trajectories? This effect is called "neighborhood", are they related to the concentration of people sharing common characteristics? In their place of residence (spatial isolation, stigma etc..)? To social and structural outside the neighborhood?
United States and in most Western European countries, the main "neighborhood effects" retained by the policies are those related to the concentration of poverty. Their presumed existence engenders public policies targeting disadvantaged areas - those of the "geography priority" in France - which promote social mix by urban policies of desegregation.

- What levers to promote social mobility? What new territories compromise between support and support for people?
